FEATURES OF DIET THERAPY FOR CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM CHRONIC CONSTIPATION

Abstract
The chronic constipation is one of the most common complaints made by patients of different ages, at the gastroenterologist’s reception. In 90 % of cases, constipation is functional. Diet therapy is an important aspect of the prevention of chronic constipation, and in most cases can improve the quality of the patient’s stool without the use of laxatives. The article presents current data concerning the main directions of diet therapy for children suffering from functional constipation. Special attention is paid to dietary recommendations for infants.
