MORPHOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF THE CELLULAR COMPOSITION OF THE GLANDS OF THE GASTRIC MUCOSA IN CHRONIC GASTRITIS

Abstract

The aim of the work is to study the cellular composition of fundal and pyloric glands in chronic gastritis to improve the morphological diagnosis of this disease. Patients and methods. The materials of 245 patients with chronic gastritis of 10 — 37 years were analyzed. For the traditional morphological diagnosis we used a standard visual-analog scale. Additionally spent counting cell subpopulations in fundal and pyloric glands. Results. It is established that the increasing of inflammation in fundal glands is reduced, the number of chief and pyloric glands the parietal cells that is accompanied by significant hyperplasia pool of endocrinocytes. Six months after treatment, patients with regress of inflammation have a tendency to normalization, and with the progression of the process — a further increase in the degree of these changes in subpopulations of the stomach glands. Conclusion. Morphometric parameters of the cellular composition of fundal and pyloric glands are an objective quantitative indicator in assessing the degree of inflammation and differentiation of uncertain and true atrophy of the gastric mucosa
