Abstract

The review is devoted to cognitive disorders in the postoperative period in patients of the departments of traumatology and orthopedics. The epidemiology, causes, pathogenesis and possible ways to prevent the development of postoperative delirium are considered both in elderly patients and in pediatric practice. The use of long-acting opiates as a component of prolonged epidural analgesia and close monitoring of systemic hemodynamics is suggested.
