DESIGN AND FEATURES OF PATIENT CENTERED MODEL OF NURSING IN PEDIATRICS
Abstract
Today much attention is paid to the development of models of nursing. In many European countries some medical functions are delegated to mid-level medical personnel, and as a result nurses form the basis of primary health care. Modern features of the organization of preventive and curative care at the level of both outpatient clinics and hospitals provide a wide participation of nursing staff in the implementation of preventive activities, carrying out the simplest medical examinations, immunization, first-aid patients, etc. A significant role of nurses is in the implementation of medical-social patronage for the elderly, children and families in difficult life situation; nursing of patients with chronic diseases; organization of home care to the needy sick; medical-preventive work in preschool and school educational institutions; work with groups of healthy, etc. In this regard, the nurse needs to become an assistant of a patient, the so-called patientorientated model. The development of patient centered nursing model involves a response to the challenge of the health care system: demographic, social-economic, information and medical technology that requires new competences and motivation of nursing staff, promote continuing education and professional growth in the new organizational environment (three-level health system).
