CONTRIBUTION OF B.M. GORODINSKY - SURGEON AND TEACHER, TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF MEDICINE IN THE CITY OF CHELYABINSK HEALTH CARE DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR
Abstract
The article describes the personality of a surgeon who made his invaluable contribution in the development of surgical care in Chelyabinsk. Gorodinsky Boris Mikhailovich was a student of the outstanding Kiev surgeon Mikhail Borisovich Yukelson. Gorodinsky had always been concerned about human grief, any details in the process of his work, was ready to operate until the last patient in need, what he practiced during the most difficult period in the history of our country, the Great Patriotic War. Boris Mikhailovich supported by his team was able to organize the work of the surgical department of the city clinical hospital № 1 of Chelyabinsk despite of all the adversity and acute shortage of doctors, tools, equipment and a proper apartment. Until the end of his life, Gorodinsky remained an excellent teacher and great specialist. The article chronologically describes the data of Boris Mikhailovich life, their influence on his personality. The work also analyses the surgeon’s work in terms of practical and historical significance of his activities, its impact on the development of fields of medicine, persons and organizations.
