Abstract

The paper presents an observation, not previously described in the literature, of the detection of the “frosted glass” symptom during X-ray examinations. This symptom has become particularly relevant in the context of a pandemic caused by a new coronavirus infection (NCI). During the management of the patient, a high similarity was revealed between pathological changes, the symptom of which is changes in the type of “frosted glass”, and a transitional childhood state in the telarche stage - the beginning of the development of the mammary parenchyma. This circumstance leads to the forced appointment of additional X-ray examinations to patients to exclude pathologically dangerous diseases, which, in turn, causes increased stress and radiation loads, lengthens the period of differential diagnosis. The use of the proposed methodology for managing patients of this age category allows the radiologist not to resort to other studies, but to resolve the situation in a more accessible way.
