Abstract

Current review contains modern insights in pathophysiological mechanisms, clinical manifestations and diagnostic strategy for the timely detection of the carditoxic effect of chemotherapy drugs, used primarily in oncology. The main groups of chemotherapy drugs with cardiotoxic effect and its main targets in the heart are considered. The principles of early detection of cardiotoxicity, the recommended modern diagnostic algorithm, the main parameters for echocardiographic assessment and interpreting guidelines are detailed.
