WHEN A PATIENT WITH CHRONIC PANCREATITIS NEED TO GO TO A SURGEON? (CLINICAL CASE)
Abstract
In recent years, new methods of surgical treatment of patients with chronic pancreatitis have been developed - the Beger-Frey operation. Clinical observation is an advanced case of chronic calculous pancreatitis with virsungoectasia and virsungolithiasis, which has been treated conservatively for more than 10 years. The patient underwent subtotal resection of the head of the pancreas using the Frey method. A persistent positive effect was observed for 4 years after the operation. Conclusion: If a patient with chronic pancreatitis has a fibrotic altered head of the pancreas, virsungoectasia of more than 5 mm against the background of persistent pain syndrome, it is necessary to refer him to surgical treatment.
