PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THERAPISTS TO DIAGNOSE AND TREAT ULCERATIVE COLITIS

Abstract

Practical recommendations are intended to optimize the tactics of managing patients with ulcerative colitis with a focus on rational therapy and the peculiarities of the use of various groups of drugs for the conservative treatment of this disease. They are recommended for use by doctors working in outpatient and inpatient health care in St. Petersburg and intended for general practitioners and all specialists interested in clinical gastroenterology. These practical recommendations were developed on the basis of the approved Clinical Recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Russia «Ulcerative colitis in adults», Recommendations of the Russian Gastroenterological Association and the Association of Coloproctologists of Russia for the diagnosis and treatment of adult patients with ulcerative colitis, Recommendations of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization. These practical recommendations were approved by the Health Committee of the Government of St. Petersburg on October 26, 2020.
