SOME FEATURES OF THE LIPID SPECTRUM AND THE RISK OF DEVELOPING OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES IN THE ELDERLY AND OLD PEOPLE
Abstract
The article provides a review of the literature, indicating the features of lipid metabolism and the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases in people of older age groups. The traditional risk factors for cardiovascular diseases in residential and old people in gerontology are called “preventive paradox”, since these factors do not affect the increase in mortality from cardiovascular diseases in this group of people. For most old people (75-89 years old), even if they have polymorbidity, a number of biochemical parameters remain within the normal range. For long livers (90 years and older), the level of total cholesterol, uric acid, urea, creatinine, fibrinogen and other parameters differ from those in people of other age groups. The course, development of complications and the prognosis of cardiovascular diseases is largely determined by age, gender, lipid spectrum in geriatric patients. Among 100 year old people, hyperfibrinogenemia correlated with the longevity and relatively good health of these people.
