Abstract

This article presents a clinical case of treatment of a geriatric patient with combined chronic pathology of the respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, and urinary systems. Difficulties in the diagnostic and treatment process were due to age -related clinical, anatomical, and immunological features, late hospitalization, as well as the fact of self -treatment of the patient before hospitalization. Particular attention in the treatment of elderly and old patients with pre -existing signs of chronic kidney disease, with impaired systemic hemodynamics and with polypharmacy should be given to the potential nephrotoxic effect of drugs, as illustrated in this article.
