Abstract

The period during which the dispensary observation of young men is carried out before the initial military registration is three years. Diseases of the organs of the circulatory system detected within the specified time limits can cause a restriction on the category of conscripts’ eligibility for military service. In connection with this circumstance, the quality of carrying out all the treatment and preventive measures planned for the specified period is the key to staffing the armed forces with healthy, hardy young people. The purpose of the study was to assess the dynamics of the prevalence and incidence of essential arterial hypertension (AH) among boys aged 15-17 years based on data from periodic medical examinations. To achieve this goal, the information obtained from the federal statistical observation form No. 12 “Information on the number of diseases registered in patients living in the service area of a medical organization” in St. Petersburg for 2015-2020 was analyzed. In accordance with the results of dispensary observation in the specified period of time, it is possible to trace tendencies towards a moderate increase in the primary detection of hypertension, which averaged 25.76% (95% CI 21.62-29.90) of cases, and a gradual decrease in the incidence of hypertension among young men of pre - conscription age. Thus, in 2020, in terms of visibility, the incidence of hypertension decreased by 21.38% compared to 2015. Taking into account the improvement in the situation with the staffing of the outpatient level with highly qualified medical personnel, the high rate of increase in the incidence of obesity among the studied cohort of the population, the reason of this problem may be the lack of effectiveness of preventive measures aimed at modifying risk factors for the development of arterial hypertension among young men of pre - conscription age.
