«HALAL». WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THIS FROM THE POSITION OF DIETOLOGY AND MEDICINE
Abstract
Religious currents also influence the choice of diets, foods and dishes, as well as the time of eating. In multi-confessional countries, food industry enterprises, in order to attract the mass consumer, produce products that are permitted by the institute of religion of the confession to which the consumer belongs. In a number of religions, dietary prescriptions are especially strict both in everyday life and during religious fasts. Halal is a permitted structure of actions, food, production. In terms of nutrition in the religion of Islam, there are especially strict rules: carrion, pork, meat of strangled animals, ethanol, artificial colors and ingredients, brewer’s yeast, gelatin (in view of its possible origin from pork), vegetable and other intoxicating substances are prohibited. At the mention of the word Halal, most of us assume special meat, and the exclusion of pork. However, dairy products, confectionery and medicines can also be classified as halal. For a religious Muslim, the observance of laws is important. The article highlights the key points in the choice of not only Halal food, baby food, but also Halal medicines.
