Abstract

The aim of the work was to evaluate the psychological characteristics and quality of life indicators of patients undergoing inpatient treatment. Materials and methods. 99 patients of therapeutic profile were interviewed: 46 gastroenterological patients and 53 patients with cardiac and pulmonic pathology with preserved intellectual-mnestic function, who are in a state of moderate severity. Patients filled out the following questionnaires: Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale, The Short Form (36) Health Survey, asthenic condition assessment scale. Results and conclusions. Of the 53 surveyed patients with cardiac and pulmonic pathology, 16 (30.1%) showed signs of subclinical/clinically pronounced anxiety, 13 (24.5%) — subclinical/clinically pronounced depression. Of 46 gastroenterological patients, 18 (39.1%) showed signs of subclinical/clinically pronounced anxiety, 14 (30.4%) of subclinical/clinically pronounced depression. Thus, their prevalence was higher in gastroenterological patients. In patients with cardiac and pulmonic pathology, a significant decrease in both physical (PH) and psychological components of health (MN) was revealed. Moreover, the physical component of health showed a greater decrease: PH=37.1; MH=31.3. In the structure of complaints of gastroenterological patients, complaints corresponding to the syndrome of diarrhea and dyspepsia were the most pronounced. As for the level of asthenia, in the resulting structure, patients with mild asthenia prevailed among all patients — 50 patients out of 99 (50.5%).
