Abstract

The article discusses the clinical variants and manifestations of short bowel syndrome depending on the severity of intestinal failure, as well as approaches to differentiated treatment of this disease. The basic principles of therapeutic nutrition for this category of patients using specialized nutritional formulas are outlined. Features of pharmacotherapy are given depending on the type of development of short bowel syndrome and promising methods of hormonal therapy that can reduce dependence on intravenous support or achieve complete enteral autonomy.
