Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the historical stages of surgical treatment of acute pancreatitis. The evolution of views in the treatment tactics of this terrible disease is presented. It is noted that over the past decades, the treatment of acute pancreatitis has been controversial, varying between a conservative medical approach, on the one hand, and an aggressive surgical approach, on the other. Over the past decade, knowledge of the natural history and pathophysiology of acute pancreatitis has improved significantly. Analytical work was carried out to study various approaches to the surgical treatment of acute pancreatitis. It is shown that the topic of surgery for acute pancreatitis is not exhausted; in this regard, the purpose of this article is a historical analysis of the scientific and practical development of this area in medicine from the first experiments to the present day.
