Abstract

The review presents up today data on the effects of intestinal hormones upon brain (cholecystokynin, gastrin, grelin, motilin, leptin, secretin, glucagon, vasoactive intestinal polypeptide, somatostatin, opioid peptides, vasopressin and oxitocin, calciotonin). Prospects and limitations of intestinal peptides application in treatment of gastrointestinal ailments are scrutinized.
