SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT OF EXTENSIVE RECURRENT KELOID SCAR
Abstract
«Keloid» is the result of the growth of dense fibrous tissue, which usually develops after the healing of injured skin. Their treatment remains one of the most difficult problems of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Simple removal of keloids, even within healthy tissue, is often accompanied by relapse, including and when combined with laser therapy, cryotherapy, expander dermatotension, and other methods, etc. In this connection, hormone therapy of keloid and hypertrophic scars is widespread. This work presents a clinical observation of a patient with a keloid scar of the first toe of the right foot, who, after several surgical interventions for a benign tumor, developed a keloid scar. Long term therapy with diprospan injections made it possible to cure the patient.
