Abstract

On July 12, 2018, the talented scientist and teacher Vladimir Ilyich Gordeyev passed away. This article is a portrait essay and is dedicated to the memory of Vladimir Ilyich Gordeev, an outstanding teacher and doctor. The main stages of the career and creative paths of the professor, the founder of the Department of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Emergency Pediatrics of St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University are presented. The scientific achievements and contribution of Vladimir Ilyich to the development of pediatric anesthesiology and resuscitation are described. The death of an outstanding scientist and a wonderful person is an irreplaceable loss for colleagues, friends and students. Vladimir Ilyich left a bright memory of himself in the hearts of people who had the good fortune to communicate with him. When the memory of a teacher is alive in the hearts of students, the connection between generations is not interrupted. In our memory, Vladimir Ilyich remained a model of a dedicated man, to whom he served according to conscience and the call of the soul.
