Evaluation of the morbidity of diseases of the nervous system of the children’s population of the rostov region
Abstract
Children’s health is an important problem in modern society and medicine, being a promising economic and social resource, it directly affects the future socio demographic and socio cultural indicators of the development of the country’s population. Neurological assistance to the child population of the country as a whole is one of the urgent tasks of the domestic pediatric service. The progressive growth of the number of children with pathologies of the nervous system in our country over the past 20 years has put this problem among the global, social ones. Ensuring the correct and adequate neuropsychic development of children of early and older, the prevention of the development of neurological diseases, as well as the identification of conditions conducive to the development of diseases of the nervous system are among the main tasks of the outpatient unit. However, its organization, the effectiveness of quality and availability, especially in rural areas, currently has many unresolved problems. Estimation of the incidence of diseases of the nervous system in the children’s population plays an important role as an indicator not only of the level, frequency and prevalence of this pathology among the population, but also the state of organization and effectiveness of the children’s neurological service in the central regional hospital, which allows you to determine ways to improve this link. The aim of the study was to study the incidence rates of the child population from diseases of the nervous system by referring to medical institutions in the conditions of rural health care in the Rostov region. To achieve the goal, the analysis of the data of the accounting and reporting documentation of the Central District Hospital of the Semikarakorsky District, including the analysis of primary and total morbidity, the assessment of morbidity by age groups, individual types of morbidity of the nervous system diseases and the distribution of nosological forms of diseases during primary and general morbidity. It was established that in the Semikarakorsky district of the Rostov region there is a high level not only of the primary and general morbidity as a whole, but also of the primary and general morbidity of the children’s population with diseases of the nervous system. At the same time, the level of both primary and general morbidity of all diseases and diseases of the nervous system was in the group of children aged 0-14 years higher than among adolescents 15-17 years old by 1.2-2.1 times. Extrapyramidal disorders, disorders of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), and episodic and paroxysmal disorders have the largest share in the structure of the primary and general morbidity of diseases of the nervous system in children. The findings indicate a difficult situation in the region and the need for measures to optimize the activities of primary health care for children, including the neurological service.
