Abstract
Non-Helicobacterial gastritis can be caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, since there is a correlation between the morphological features of gastritis and the presence of the virus antigen in the gastric mucosa. Also Epstein Barr virus can be a trigger for autoimmune gastritis. There is a correlation between infection with the virus and the presence of antiparietal autoantibodies.
