DIFFICULTIES IN DIAGNOSING SOMATIC MORBIDITY IN CHILDREN WITH CONNECTIVE TISSUE DISORDERS.

Abstract

The high prevalence of connective tissue disorders (CTD) in children, changes in the typical symptoms of the diseases with the simultaneous involvement of several organ systems lead to medical errors, inadequate treatment, development of complications, and deterioration in the quality of life of patients. The aim: to study current literature on the subject and to present the study of peculiarities of diagnosing somatic disorders in children with CTD. Material and methods: analysis of the results of published studies on the peculiarities in diagnosis of somatic morbidity in children with manifestations of connective tissue disorders. Results: Numerous studies of national and foreign scientists enable practicing physicians to study internal and external phenotypic signs of connective tissue disorders in children with a progression of symptoms; to conduct professionally clinical interview with the subsequent controlled laboratory, instrumental examination, specialist consultation with defining as a result a priority diagnosis, adequate therapy and long-term aftercare. Conclusions: the use of current Russian Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Connective Tissue Disorders in Children would lead to significant changes of the situation within the population, reduce the number of complications of somatic diseases associated with connective tissue disorders and improve the patient’s quality of life.
