Abstract

The aim o f the s tudy was to study t he relationship between endoscopic features and the gastrointestinal form of connective tissue dysplasia. Materials and methods. An examination and a retrospective analysis of outpatient charts of 100 children aged 6–17 years were conducted. The main group included 40 children with gastrointestinal form of DST (pathology of the gastrointestinal tract with dysplastic changes). Comparison group — 20 children with chronic gastroduodenal pathology without signs of DST. Control group — 40 children with individual signs of DST and without chronic pathology of digestive organs, comparable in age and sex with the group. Dysplasia of connective tissue was detected by main and secondary signs according to the criteria of T. Milkovska-Dimitrova and A. Karkashev (1988). The incidence of revealed signs of connective tissue dysplasia was expressed as a percentage. Diagnoses are verified clinico-endoscopically. We assessed the burden of obstetric history, the results of laboratoryinstrumental methods of examination during the exacerbation of the disease. In the study, a correlation analysis was performed to study three groups. The strong and medium strength of the relationship were analyzed. To assess the reliability of the differences between the values, the program Statistica 6.0 was used. The results were statistically significant at p <0.05. The conclusion. Gastrointestinal form of connective tissue dysplasia is characterized by multimorbidity with correlation between endoscopic findings and severity of connective tissue dysplasia.
