Abstract

The article presents a historical analysis of the physical exercises using in the treatment and prevention of diseases. The tasks that today face physical culture in the context of maintaining the health of the able bodied population and prolonging “active longevity” are determined. Some problematic issues of training specialists and possible ways to solve them are considered.
