Abstract

In connection with the currently noted significant changes in morbidity and mortality structure it’s necessary to conduct analytical work and the development of new diagnostic criteria combined with modern morphological studies. The successful implementation of lifetime and postmortem diagnosis in large cities requires coordination of pathological branches (PAO). For PAT Children's hospital in St. Petersburg and North-West, as well as other regions of Russia such a focal point is the Department of Pathological Anatomy SPb SPMU. Department of Pathological Anatomy with the course of forensic medicine SPb SPMU implements comprehensive educational and methodical, scientific, practical, advisory and coordination work, helping to optimize and improve the effectiveness of child mortem St. Petersburg service.
