Quality of Life and health-lifestyle factors of medical students
Abstract
The study of quality of life of medical students and the analysis of health-lifestyle factors of students and their relationship with the indicators of quality of life was conducted. The study involved 312 medical students (140 males, 172 females). The mean age of all students is 21.3 years, ranging between 16–36 years, with the majority of students being aged 16–24 years (89,0 %). The quality of life of students was assessed using a Russian version of the General Questionnaire Short form‑36 (SF‑36). Skovenborg analysis of lifestyle factors of the students was carried out using a questionnaire we developed. The study showed that positive
health affecting factors of the lifestyle such as: high level of physical activity, proper nutrition, absence of bad habits or any disease, proper sleep, keeping work and rest balance, low stress provide a higher quality of life; while negative health affecting factors of student life are low level of physical activity, poor diet, bad habits, inadequate sleep, imbalance of work and rest, frequent stress and susceptibility to diseases are associated with low levels of physical, mental and social functioning.
