PREVENTION OF DENTAL DISEASES IN SCHOOLCHILDREN. THE RESOURCES AND CAPABILITIES OF THE SPECIALIZED CLINICS
Abstract
The frequency of dental diseases in children is 73–88%, due to the lack of preventive measures. Most children visit the dental clinic due to the presence of pain, only 12% of visits are for preventive purposes. In the structure of care 34% are the cases of treatment of complicated forms of caries. Dental caries and its complications are the most common diseases of childhood. World experience shows that in order to reduce the prevalence of dental diseases, it is not just enough to use additional labor and economic resources in the industry. Actively carried out primary prevention and formation of healthy lifestyle habits of the population promotes reduction of incidence of teeth. Taking into account the difficult social-economic conditions, the current lack of funding and personnel, low medical activity in the population in terms of prevention of dental diseases, there is a need to find new organizational forms for preventive dental care, especially for children. The article presents the experience of mobile dental office, the use of which in the system of preventive care can significantly increase the coverage of routine inspections of children, timely diagnose the diseases of the teeth, with maximum efficiency to carry out primary and secondary prevention of dental diseases, which
in the future will reduce the frequency and intensity of dental diseases in children.
