Abstract

The most common of degenerative-dystrophic diseases of musculoskeletal apparatus is osteoarthritis (OA ) characterized by degeneration of articular cartilage, development of marginal osteophytes, joint deformation, creating a number of social-economic problems in the form of disability causing deterioration in the quality of life and considerable financial costs. Clinical diagnosis of osteoarthritis is difficult to make. This is due to a number of factors: asymptomatic disease, some difference between the x-ray picture and clinical manifestations, nonconformity of arthroscopy and radiography of the affected joints, lack of reliable biological markers of cartilaginous metabolism, reflecting the progression of osteoarthritis and having a prognostic value, individual for each localization of osteoarthritis evaluation criteria. In the treatment of OA the main role is given to effective and safe analgesia, anti-inflammatory therapy with minimal risk of complications, slowing and/or stopping the progression of the disease, improving the quality of patients life. Surgical department of SPb “City polyclinic № 37” treated 180 patients with gonarthrosis of 1–3 degree, the
duration of the disease was 6 months — 10 years. The article presents an assessment of the results of treatment of these patients, the observation period was 2014–2016, the study had a continuous character.
