HEROES-ASTRAKHANIANS WHO SAVED PEOPLE’S LIVES
Abstract
This article is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. It presents the contribution of teachers of the Astrakhan Medical Institute, who in the shortest possible time trained qualified doctors from among their students, and at the same time the “second side” of their invaluable activity was the development of new medicines in the laboratories of the university, thanks to which it was possible to save many human lives. The article reflects the difficult conditions for fulfilling the professional and military duties of doctors. Despite all the hardships of wartime, they managed to remain faithful to the principles of medical service to the patient, were merciful to every human life, saved the wounded on the battlefield and in evacuation hospitals, worked without sparing themselves, showed unprecedented courage and heroism. Everything mentioned above is reflected in the biographical notes of famous Astrakhan doctors in the time of the Great Patriotic War, such as Sluvko L.L., Lychmanov N.G., Nogaller A, M,, Zavgorodnev L.M., Sterligov G.F., Konovalov G.I., Biryukov M.V. zarev, Lazarev Their names are immortalized in the Book of Memory of the city of Astrakhan. In honor of the feat and as a tribute to a bright memory on the territory of the hospital named after Kirov in Astrakhan on April 29, 2015, another monument was opened in the memory of doctors who died during the Great Patriotic War, the image of which reflects the heroes of the article. Thanks to their selfless and heroic work on the battlefields, in the front line zone, in the rear, it was possible to reduce the number of human casualties, and give many soldiers a chance to return home alive.
