EXPERIENCE OF KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM FORMATION OF TOOLS AND LEAN PRODUCTION METHODS APPLIED IN IMPLEMENTATION OF IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN MEDICAL ORGANIZATIONS
Abstract
For the effective introduction of a set of measures for a new model of a medical organization, new approaches to training and the integration of lean technologies into medical practice are required, which allow not only to give knowledge to students, but also to motivate them to continuously improve activities in the workplace. The article describes a new approach of knowledge and practical skills formation for the integrated application of methods, principles and tools of lean production in the shortest possible time, without prejudice to the work of a medical organization, within the educational process of the training platform “Process Factory”. Students master the training program using lean technologies in simulated conditions. The Process Factory training platform, which simulates real production processes in healthcare, allows students to learn how to identify and eliminate waste in the workflow, gain practical skills in using lean manufacturing tools, form an idea of an effective workflow, and also contributes to the development of lean thinking. The priority task of the “Process Factory” is the application of the knowledge gained by the students in the work process in solving problems for the implementation of improvement projects. With the participation of the St. Petersburg Regional Center for the Organization of Primary Health Care, a questionnaire was conducted among students who started to work after completing training at the “Process Factory”. The purpose of the questionnaire was to determine whether the participants under the study apply the acquired knowledge in the implementation of improvement projects. The result of the survey showed that the system of knowledge and skills formed at the “Factory of processes” is actively used at workplaces in solving project problems for improvement. New approaches to the formation of a system of knowledge and practical skills make it possible to effectively implement a set of measures when building a new model of a medical organization.
