Abstract

In unfavorable demographic conditions, worsening of the health of the child population can contribute to a significant increase in economic, medical, demographic and social losses both for society and the state. Accordingly, increase of the role of prevention in the activities of medical organizations can be one of the directions that contribute to improving the health of minors. The most important place in the protection of children’s health is given to medical organizations providing primary health care. Сhildren’s polyclinics are of major importance. In this article an assessment of the organization of preventive work in the outpatient pediatric service was made. Preventive work, as an integral part of the activity of children’s polyclinics, includes preventive observation, preventive medical examinations by specialist doctors on fixed dates, vaccination work childs’ population, the formation of a healthy lifestyle, prevention and early diagnosis of pathological conditions, etc. This aspect is of particular importance for the work with children of the first year of life. A significant number of unresolved problems have been identified, which indicates the need to take a number of measures to improve the effectiveness and accessibility of preventive care to the younger generation. The need to improve the quality of medical and preventive work at the stage of providing primary health care to children using modern standards and technologies has been identified. This will significantly improve the health of the childs’ population, which in future will make it possible to positively influence the reduction in the level of morbidity, disability and mortality of the childs’ population.
