OSTEOPATHIA STRIATA WITH CRANIAL SCLEROSIS (LITERATURE REVIEW)
Abstract
Osteopathia striata with cranial sclerosis (OSCS) is an extremely rare genetic disorder inherited in an X-linked dominant manner. It was first described by Voorhoeve and Fairbank and is characterized by the characteristic radiographic vertical striation of the metaphyses of long bones and the pelvis. OSCS is a complex condition that predominantly affects females and manifests in early childhood. However, due to its rarity and heterogeneous clinical presentation, accurate diagnosis of OSCS can be challenging. In this context, radiological imaging plays a crucial role in early detection, assessing severity, and monitoring disease progression.
