LOW-DOSE IMAGING IN PEDIATRIC PRACTICE: THE ROLE AND PERSPECTIVES OF APPLYING THE DIGITAL TOMOSYNTHESIS TECHNIQUE
Abstract
The vector of preventive medicine in Pediatrics creates an active request to reduce the radiation exposure in the children examination without losing the quality of visualization of pathological changes and the accuracy of diagnosis. For this purpose, they clarify the indications for the use of the applied techniques and laying poses, reduce the number of repeated studies, optimize evacuation path for patients, etc. This review of domestic and foreign literature data is devoted to the possibilities of using a low dose method of x ray diagnostics - digital tomosynthesis (TS) - in the diagnosis of a wide range of diseases in children, as well as the prospects for further development of the method for solving specific problems associated with the examination of children’s patients.
