Urothelial cancer of the renal pelvicaliceal system. Clinical case
Abstract
Urothelial cancer of the renal pelvicaliceal system is as an aggressive tumor. This article presents a clinical case of renal urothelial cancer detected by using non invasive diagnostic methods (IV-urography, ultrasound investigation, CT), followed by examination of the surgical material and microscopic preparations. The references describe epidemiological features, risk factors for the occurrence of urothelial tumors of the upper urinary tract, principles of diagnosis, and clinical features of the cancer course and treatment. This article illustrates the resolution of high tech diagnostic methods and helps the radiologist in assessing the main criteria of the tumor process, the presence of secondary changes in the surrounding tissues, the relevance of the data obtained for determining the tactics of patient management during the diagnostic and postoperative period both for diagnosticians, and clinicians.
