A clinical case. A rare case of non chromaffin paraganglioma of the larynx in an 11 year old child
Abstract
A clinical case of a very rare pathology - non chromaffin paraganglioma of the larynx is presented. Non chromaffin paraganglioma of the larynx leaves 0.6% among all tumors of the neck and head, and refers to formations of the neuroendocrine system. Similar tumors arise from sympathetic and parasympathetic paraganglia. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis presents certain difficulties. This is due to the rare occurrence of this pathology. Among the instrumental research methods used: ultrasound, magnetic resonance, X-ray computed tomography, angiography. However, the final diagnosis is made using morphological examination. The article presents the diagnostic algorithm and the results of instrumental research methods: fibrolaryngoscopy (the formation of the vestibular region on the right was revealed), MRI (the pathological formation of an inhomogeneous MR signal and restriction in DWI was visualized), microscopic examination (angioma like non chromaffin paraganglioma of the larynx with stroma hyalinosis, thrombosis and calcification of arterioles).
