Abstract
Transabdominal ultrasound to use for imaging the intestinal tract is not well established. But increasing experience with sonographic findings in a variety of intestinal diseases including inflammatory bowel disease, have contributed to establishing the role of ultrasound as a clinically important, non-invasive imaging modality, that should be mastered by ultrasound diagnostics specialists conducting examinations of the abdominal organs.
