Research Data Sharing Policy
Authors of publications may provide access to data from research that substantiates the content of their work.
This is welcomed but is not a mandatory requirement.
The decision to publish material does not depend on the author's consent to share the data.
Research data refers to any medium containing factual material used to achieve the research findings. These data can be presented in both digital and non-digital forms. This includes tables, program code, images, audio and video, text documents, maps, and processed or raw data.
The policy applies only to data that is necessary to validate the results published in journal articles.
Data may be primary (obtained directly by the authors) or secondary (analyzed by the authors based on information from other sources).
The policy does not cover data that are not required to verify the results presented in the articles.
In cases where data is not subject to disclosure, it may be:
- placed in restricted access repositories;
- anonymized in advance.
The author has the right to provide only metadata or information on how to access the data upon request of interested professionals instead of open access to the data.
The most preferable way to share data is to place them in specialized repositories. To find a suitable repository it is recommended to use the resource: https://repositoryfinder.datacite.org/.
The editorial board of the journal supports the provision of open access to research data under the terms of Creative Commons licenses.
The journal publisher does not claim ownership of data submitted by authors with an article.
Questions about the need to comply with this policy can be addressed to the responsible editor of the journal.
