FEATURES OF TEACHING ELECTIVE DISCIPLINES AT MORPHOLOGICAL DEPARTMENTS OF VGMU NAMED AFTER NN Burdenko

Abstract

Inclusion and organization of selective disciplines in the program of training of students of pediatric faculty opens opportunities for expansion, deepening and systematization of knowledge on one of selected disciplines. The purpose of creating elective disciplines is not only to obtain professional knowledge from students, but also to deepen and improve them from the whole sections of medicine, creating the basis for solid theoretical training necessary in future scientific and practical activities. The faculty of the Departments of Histology and Normal Anatomy of human have developed working programs on topical sections of medicine, such as “X-ray anatomy of musculoskeletal system” and “Morphological features of children ‘s organism.” These elective disciplines are aimed at deepening knowledge about the macro and microscopic structure of the human body for students of the 2 year of pediatrics faculty. Practical classes on elective courses are held on museum exhibits, using visual aids, solving situational tasks and test tasks, demonstration of histological micro preparations and anatomical macro preparations. In accordance with the requirements of GEF, active and interactive forms of practical training are widely used in the training process: explanatory and illustrative training with visualization of classroom classes, modular training, multimedia training. In order to provide imaging by the Department of Normal Anatomy of human, an office was created to view X-ray images, allowing to study anatomical shape of organs, their position, tone, peristaltics, state of mucosal relief. Especially for the elective course Morphological Features of Children ‘s Organism, the faculty of the Department published a training manual of the same name, which contains qualitative illustrative material reflecting the exact microscopic structure of tissues and organs by age periods. Issues of development of bodies important in terms of clarification of practical periods and processes of induction are reflected. Developed elective courses of disciplines at the Department of Normal Anatomy and Histology of VGMU named after N. N. Burdenko contribute to the development of clinical thinking, systematization and concretization of knowledge necessary for the future formation of a competitive specialist “Pediatrician.”
