MODELING OF THE TEACHING ANATOMICAL PREPARATIONS WITH USING OF SELF-HARDENING POLYMER CLAY
Abstract
The goal is to prepare anatomical models of perineal structures and develop students’ manual skills. And also, for improved visualization of educational material in the module “Urinary and sexual systems” for students studying at the medical and pediatric faculty. Materials and methods: bone preparations of the pelvis, self hardening polymer clay and acrylic paints. Results and discussion: at the Department of anatomy of Tver State Medical University, along with classical methods of teaching on natural anatomical preparations we use innovative methods of teaching on initational models of anatomical formations to increase interest in the development of anatomy, developing practical skills and boosting clinical thinking in undergraduate students. The simulation model reproduces the object of study, fully corresponds to the characteristics of biological products and gives more information about it. These preparations clearly show the perineal muscles, their origin, attachment and direction of the muscle fibers. This allows you to study the location of the pelvic organs and their sphincter apparatus, the formation of the tendon center, the muscles of the urogenital and pelvic diaphragms, the boundaries of the sciatic rectal fossa. Conclusions: the high visibility of these models makes it possible not only to consider in detail the types of connections of the pelvic bones and its size, the perineal muscles. But it also allows you to understand and study the anatomy and topography of this area. In the process of working with models, students’ interest in learning increases, the quality and speed of learning material is improved, and creative abilities are developed.
