Abstract

The article presents the examination’ results of 28 eyes of 1 year aged children operated on removal of bilateral congenital cataract (CC), and 26 eyes of practically healthy children without any visual pathology. It has been shown that the differentiation of the retina’ macular zone was assessed by the value of the macular index (MI). It was found that in preschool children with pseudophakia after congenital cataract removal there are signs of macular zone disorders that persist at early school age. Optical coherence tomography of the retina is an informative method for assessing the state of vision in children and can be recommended for clinical examination of children with VC.
