CLINICAL CASE OF THORACIC LYMPHADENOPATHY SYNDROME IN AN 18-YEAR-OLD PATIENT
Abstract
The most common mediastinal lymphoma - Hodgkin’s lymphoma - occurs in 50-70% of cases, and 90-95% of them is a variant with nodular sclerosis. About 10% of all mediastinal lymphomas are primary mediastinal large - cell B-cell lymphoma. This publication presents a clinical case of thoracic lymphodenopathy syndrome, which is tentatively regarded as “Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, mediastinal form?”. After further examination in the oncological dispensary and hospital, the diagnosis was made: “Primary mediastinal B-cell large - cell lymphoma of stage IVB”. The described clinical case is an example of how late treatment and detection of the disease can affect the course and prognosis of the disease. The purpose of the described case is to strengthen the attention of primary care workers to oncological alertness, because after all, according to the forecasts of the World Health Organization (WHO), the incidence and mortality from malignant neoplasms is progressively increasing by 1.5-2 times and is already a big problem of health systems around the world, including in Russia.
