A SERIES OF CLINICAL CASES OF EMERGENCY SURGICAL TREATMENT OF POSTINFARCTION RUPTURE OF THE INTERVENTRICULAR SEPTUM
Abstract
The clinical case presents surgical treatment of postinfarction rupture of the interventricular septum on the first day from the onset of the disease. Surgical tactics, approach to patient management before surgery, and intervention technique are discussed. Several variants of VSD have been considered: interventricular septum rupture associated with post-reperfusion syndrome after PCI and rupture associated with overload of the cardiac chambers. An example of patient mortality statistics in early and long-term results is also given.
