Abstract
The last decade was marked by the popularization of electronic cigarettes, which caused their spread among various segments of the population. The devices in question are positioned as a safe and less harmful, even completely harmless alternative to traditional smoking of tobacco products. The fight against smoking creates favorable conditions for the wider use of electronic cigarettes. At the same time, there is virtually no regulatory framework for regulating vaping, which poses a threat not only to people’s health, but also to their material well being. The objective of the review was to compare the physico chemical and toxic properties of electronic and conventional cigarettes, as well as to identify and substantiate the basic principles of treatment and prevention of substance abuse. The authors conducted an analytical review of clinical cases from medical histories and a comparative assessment of the studied physical and technical parameters based on the materials of periodical and specialized literature.
