Abstract

The article deals with topical issues of management of female athletes with polycystic ovary syndrome, taking into account clinical features, the presence of risk factors for the development of cardiovascular pathology. Special attention is paid to the problem of obesity and insulin resistance in women’s sports. Modern approaches to treatment are considered. The article presents the data of a study carried out by the authors, the results of which showed the greatest effectiveness of the combination of metformin and liraglutide in weight loss and insulin resistance. The use of monotherapy with metformin and liraglutide also proved to be quite effective, but to a lesser extent. At the same time, there was a significant decrease in androgen levels in the blood against the background of a decrease in body weight. The results obtained are important for assessing the prognosis, including reproductive, for this category. Special attention should also be paid to metabolic control during sports in connection with an increase in the level of lactate in the blood during metformin treatment
