ASSESSMENT OF THE FUNCTIONAL THRESHOLD IN GIRLS STUDYING AT A MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, ENGAGED IN CONTACT AND GAME SPORTS
Abstract
The work is devoted to the study of differences in the assessment of the functional state (indicators of emotional intelligence and physical performance) of persons engaged in contact (martial arts) and game sports, using the example of female students of all courses of a medical university. Aim. The purpose of the study is to scientifically substantiate discrepancies in the assessment of the functional state (the structure of emotional intelligence and indicators of physical performance) of female athletes engaged in these sports, as well as to develop effective methods based on this to increase their neuropsychological stability. Materials and methods. A questionnaire was conducted using the Hall method followed by an analysis of integrative scales: emotional awareness, managing one's emotions, self-motivation, empathy, recognition of other people's emotions. Results. Correlations between indicators of strength, speed, general physical endurance and indicators of emotional intelligence on five scales were investigated, and similarities and differences of those in three groups of subjects were established: persons engaged in martial arts, team sports, as well as an average general sample. Conclusions. A number of regularities have been established: the leading components of emotional intelligence in female students engaged in martial arts and team sports have been identified; emotional intelligence makes a significant contribution to the development of physical fitness, but is not a decisive factor; the components of emotional intelligence that are least developed are identified and recommendations are given to improve their quality; the physical performance of female athletes is determined by the balance between the quality of the training process and the state of the emotional sphere; differences in the orientation of emotional intelligence in the groups studied are scientifically substantiated; in the list of developed principles for improving the working capacity of female medical university students engaged in contact and game sports, in order to improve their level of physical fitness, it is necessary to include psychoprophylaxis specialists in the coaching staff.
