Abstract

Every year there is an increase in the incidence of syphilis around the world. With the absence of proper treatment, cardiovascular complications begin to appear in 15–30 years after the initial infection and can be accompanied by damage to the media and adventitia of the aorta. Further aortic pathology may manifest as acute aortic syndrome with a high risk of mortality or be detected accidentally during examination of the patient. We present a clinical case of successful treatment of a syphilitic aortic arch aneurysm, accompanied by compression of surrounding organs.
