CREATION OF THE WORLD'S FIRST VIRTUAL MUSEUM OF MEDICAL RADIOLOGY AT SAINT PETERSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Saint Petersburg State University is creating a unique virtual Museum of Medical Radiology. Until now, there has been no such museum in our country and abroad. The creation of the museum will allow to preserve and systematize the materials on the history of the development of Medical Radiology, to combine the information about specialized departments and scientific societies, and draw attention to the issues of Medical Radiology to a wide audience: schoolchildren, students, residents, doctors, teachers, and members of the public. The purpose of the museum is to popularize science, generalize pedagogical experience, unite universities and research institutes under the leadership of St. Petersburg State University, as the country’s leading university. It is symbolic that the initiator of the creation of the Museum is St. Petersburg University, where for the first time in the country the experiments of V.K. Roentgen were reproduced and photographs were obtained. The Museum faces the task of preserving the history of the development of Medical Radiology in our country.
