FLOZ PROCEDURE: COMBINATION OF OZAKI PROCEDURE AND FLORIDA SLEEVE

Abstract

The original procedure of neocuspidization of the aortic valve, proposed by Professor S. Ozaki, is now actively used in the surgical treatment of both congenital and acquired aortic valve defects of the heart (AK). Due to the fact that often aneurysms of the root and ascending aorta occur with AC defect, a group of authors led by R.N. Komarov developed the operation Russian Conduit. In 2005, P. Hess proposed the Florida Sleeve procedure, which was aimed at treating aneurysms and dilation of the aortic root. Based on the physiology of the Florida Sleeve surgery and Ozaki surgery, we came to the conclusion that the combination of these procedures can be considered as a beneficial and promising analogue to existing methods of correction of aortic valve defect in combination with aortic root dilation, or in patients with a higher probability of its dilation and annulectasia.The article describes the new FLOZ procedure for the correction of aortic valve defect in patients with a high risk of aortic root dilation.
