A CLINICAL CASE OF ECHINOCOCCAL CYST OF RARE LOCALIZATION WITH A LITERATURE REVIEW
Abstract
This article presents a case of a rare localization of hydatidotic echinococcus (Echinococcus granulosus) — in the right knee joint in a 32-year-old patient with the development of parasitic
purulent-necrotic arthrosynovitis. The paper also displays and analyzes the basic data on epidemiology, pathogenesis and morphology of hydatidosis echinococcus, as well as provides the main diagnostic criteria of the disease. The publication of this observation will be of interest not only to clinical specialists and pathologists, but also to doctors of functional diagnostics. This case will once again demonstrate the importance of early diagnosis of this helminthiasis, which is widespread and can be encountered in the practical activity of a doctor of any profile. Late diagnosis of echinococcosis can lead to impaired function of the affected organ or organ system, as well as lead to lethal outcome.
